Våler Church

Våler Kirke replaces the village's historic wooden churc that was completely destroyed by a fire in 2009. 

Following the fire and the loss of the church discussions began surrounding it’s resurrection. The new spectacular church opened in 2015 and is one of Europe's largest wooden churches. The Våler Church by Espen Surnevik havewon four awards since opening.
Hadeland Glassverk were commissioned to design and manufactured 24 glass pendants. The pendants are each 1 metre in length and are supended above the seats in the church. They are individually mouth-blown and hand-finished at Hadeland Glassverk according to 250-year-old techniques.
